Aerial spraying to empty Hamilton school

Schools are preparing for half-empty classrooms during aerial spraying against the asian gypsy moth.

Almost three-quarters of Rhode St School's roll are expected to stay away when spraying starts on October 6, despite safety assurances.

Asked whether their children would be at school on spray days, parents of 72 per cent of the 220 pupils said they would not.
