About 150 children are stranded at a school camp at Port Waikato School.
Waikato Regional Council this afternoon said all roads in and out of Port Waikato are blocked.
"We understand there are about 150 children on camp at Port Waikato School.
"While all roads in and out ofPort Waikato are currently blocked, we understand where the children are located is safe and they are at no immediate risk.

Others include, Waingaro Road and Te Puroa Road, Ngaruawahia; Slater Road, Rotowaro Road and Hangapipi Road, Huntly; Highway 22 north of Glen Murray at the 21.5km mark; Waitetuna Valley Road, Te Uku; Tuakau Bridge and Port Waikato Road, Klondyke Road, Allen and Eyre Road all in Tuakau.
The council said it is still investigating reports of surface flooding and slips.
