An 82-year-old woman dressed in a purple onesie and no shoes who had been missing since this afternoon has been found safe and well.

Salma Rizk, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at her home address on Batchelor St, Newlands, Wellington about 1pm today.

Police said Rizk was found at 8:50pm at a nearby property and would like to thank the public for their assistance.
