8-year-old in hospital after being accidentally stabbed

An 8-year-old boy was accidentally stabbed in a fall near Ohakuhe this afternoon.

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was called to a property near Ohakune at around 2:30pm.

The boy was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted, with his Mum, to Whanganui Hospital.
