An 8-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in South Auckland.

The girl suffered moderate injuries after she was struck on Manston Rd, Mangere, this afternoon, a St John ambulance spokeswoman said.

She was taken to Middlemore Hospital and was in a stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
