A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has caused strong shaking in the North Island, southwest of Hastings.
The quake was recorded by Geonet at 8.43pm on Sunday, at a depth of 21km.
The shake was Southwest of Hastings and Northeast of Palmerston North, about 20km West of Waipukurau.
