A modern architectural house is for sale next door to Dryden Lodge in Grey Lynn, where two people were found dead last month.
The four-bedroom and three bathroom home has a council valuation of $2.8 million and is for sale by negotiation by Barfoot & Thompson.
In the highly-sought aftersuburb, the average time taken to sell a house is 23 days - this one has been on the market for 28 already.
It happens to be next door to Dryden Lodge, which operates as a halfway house for many tenants with drug and alcohol problems.
The lodge hit the headlines last month when a horrified worker discovered two bodies, later identified as missing actress Tania Ellwood and Timothy Hamilton.
The real estate agent handling the sale, Layne Stephens, declined to discuss the sale of the house, which was first listed on Trade Me Property on March 20 and has received nearly 4000 page views.

It is being marketed as a "masterpiece" on flat land in prime Grey Lynn with all the features of new houses and renovated villas in the desirable inner city suburb - underfloor heating, designer kitchen with a scullery pantry, two large living areas, a heated swimming pool and generous garaging for that "classic car". It is fully fenced and secure.
The house is part of a cluster of modern homes built on the site of the Salvation Army's former Bethany Centre for pregnant young woman in Dryden St. The new homes are valued at up to $3.6m.
Nick Goodall, head of research at CoreLogic, said over the past year the average time to sell a house in Auckland was 28 days, but 23 days in Grey Lynn, where the median price is $1.45m
In the past three months, house prices in Grey Lynn have risen 2.1 per cent, which is quite strong given a 4.3 per cent rise over the past year, he said.
One local real estate source said the market is "quite healthy" in Grey Lynn. Good houses, where there is a limited supply and high demand, are selling well.
