Police made 25 arrests and evicted nearly 100 fans from the Westpac Stadium during the Rugby Sevens tournament in Wellington in the weekend.
A police spokesman said the crowd was mostly well-behaved but it had been a busy two days.
Most people had heeded the police message to
respect other fans, but alcohol was the recurring theme among those removed.
Of the 25 arrested, 16 face charges including disorderly behaviour, theft, trespass and breach of the peace.
