A $15k grant is being sought to help fund in 2015 a second Kokomai Creative Festival in Wairarapa.
The Wairarapa Arts Festival Trust has made a submission to Carterton District Council for funding of $15,000 to go toward the Kokomai Creative Festival, Wairarapa.
The Festival was held for the first time last year.
"The inaugural Kokomai Creative Festival held in October 2013 was a great success and deliveredto the Wairarapa Arts Festival Trust's goals of providing artistic opportunity to the people of the Wairarapa as participants and audience. We were proud to base the festival from the Carterton Events Centre and showcase the outstanding venue to national and international acts and audiences."
The funding will go toward a New Zealand School of Dance production on June 29.
'Discover Dance' is a rare opportunity to see the accomplished students of the New Zealand School of Dance perform in the Wairarapa.
The school's graduating students, majoring in classical ballet or contemporary dance, will present the equivalent of danced monologues - an array of short works drawn from either the classical repertoire or innovative new choreography."
The funding will also go toward the second festival in 2015, which will follow a similar format to the festival held in 2013 with opportunities for Carterton residents to attend.
