A 14-year-old Auckland teenager who was missing overnight has returned home this morning.

Police sent out an alert for Izrael Whippy after he failed to come home after going out with his skateboard last night.

The 14-year-old was last seen by a friend on Tuarangi Rd, Grey Lynn, at 8.30pm.

He was due home at 9pm but his parents grew concerned when he failed to turn up.

However, police said he returned to his home this morning and was now safe and sound with family.
