Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh has confirmed he is suffering from economy class syndrome.
The Australian Associated Press reported today that Waugh has minor case of the condition - also known as deep vein thrombosis - in his injured calf muscle.
He told the news agency it could be linked to his flight back from the Ashes tour in England.
"Waugh said he felt there was something wrong after flying back from the Ashes tour at the end of August because his leg seemed more painful than it should have been from the calf muscle tear he'd suffered in the third test," the report said.
Waugh was quoted as saying: "It's a blockage in one of the small veins and it's going to take some work to fix it properly".
He is not expected to miss the first test of the domestic season against New Zealand in Brisbane from November 8-12.
