Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is one of a number of celebs who have embraced the Tesla Roadster pure electric sports car. Based on the super-sporty Lotus Elise, it reaches 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and Flea says it made his Porsche feel "like a golf cart".

Footballer David Beckham has been spotted driving around Los Angeles in a sleek, blacked-out Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupe. Not just happy with that, he has a black, US$400,000 customised Porsche 911 cabriolet turbo, a jacked-up Jeep Wrangler, a Ferrari F430 and a V10 Lamborghini Gallardo.
