Three outlets nationwide announced to sell and service electric car
Holden New Zealand has announced the three national dealerships that will be selling it's highly anticipated long-range electric vehicle, the Volt, when it arrives here later in the year.
Auckland's Schofield Holden, Ebbett Wellington and Blackwells Holden Christchurch will be in charge of selling and servicing the Volt.
Holden New Zealand's managing director, Jeff Murray, said announcing the dealers was a "real thrill", especially at a time when people are becoming more conscious about their carbon footprint and protecting the environment.
"The three servicing dealers were chosen for a number of reasons not the least of which is their areas of operation which we believe will enable them to service the breadth and width of the country,"said Murray.
"All our dealers have shown huge interest in Volt and they were excited to be associated with these types of technology advances and innovation.
"There has been a lot of interest shown by large companies who are keen on lowering their carbon footprint which is incredibly pleasing given that Holden can now provide such a game changing option."
Holden is also pleased to announce a special White Glove experience which is a premium service designed to enhance a premium vehicle.
"We felt it was important to show how proud we are of the Volt as a technologically advanced electric car and we are providing a service comparable to this vehicle," said Murray.
The car has enough electric power to be a zero-emissions daily commuter for most people.
But even when the lithium-ion battery runs low, it can use a petrol engine to recharge and extend the range. The batteries can also be fully recharged in six to eight hours from a standard electrical outlet.
Volt pricing, specifications and launch timings will be announced later in the year.
