The Palmerston North Inner Wheel hosted district members at their November District meeting.
Part of their day, the members filled boxes for Kits for Kindys to ship to Vanuatu to help rebuild Kindys devastated by Cyclone Harold.
Palmerston North Inner Wheel editor Julie Watson said all the clubs in their district, which covers the lower half of the North Island, gathered items from their clubs to fill the kits.
"We were blown away with donations received, not only from members, but other people wanting to support the project which our district had initiated.

"We partnered with Pacific Pathways to help support the Kits for Kindys organisation run by a New Zealand couple who are helping the people of Vanuatu after the cyclone hit."
Items collected included books, preschool toys, games, crayons, jigsaws, age-appropriate stationery and wooden toys donated by one of the Menzsheds in the district.
"We managed to fill 32 50-litre boxes full of toys to be sent to Vanuatu to help rebuild kindys devastated by the cyclone.
"Money was also donated to buy playground equipment."
