Bra Artz: Love Hearts, Diva Bra, Floral Fantasy, Pair of Fascinators

Love Hearts, Diva Bra, Floral Fantasy, Pair of Fascinators, Titillating, Cupcakes and Melons are some of the names of bra designs in the upcoming Bra Artz.

This is the seventh year for the bra design competition which is sponsored by Pure Breast Care NZ.

Bra Artz is a Heartland Lions Palmerston North (HLPN) project with all money raised donated to the Manawatū Cancer Society.

HLPN community project director Lynette Templeton says there is a lot of interest in Bra Artz, and there is no limit to the number of designers who can enter.

"Rest homes are designing bras as a craft," she said, highlighting the interest in the quirky and popular competition.

Mothers and daughters, or girlfriends, team up to design their bra, and men have entered previously, Templeton said.

In the past, the numbers of entries topped 100.

There's a gold coin vote for the bra that catches the eye and imagination.

"All the money raised through Bra Artz stays in the Manawatū," says Templeton.

There are three prize categories, with the Breast in Show receiving a free fitting and bra from Liz Brett of Pure Breast Care NZ.

The Most Creative Name and the entry with the most gold coin votes are the other two categories to receive prizes.
