Maori potatoes, free-range eggs and apples were winners, and golden queen peaches highly commended in the summer food awards.

All four who won awards sold their produce at the Feilding Farmers Market and were recognised at the 2018 Farmers Market NZ Food Awards dinner held in Christchurch at the end of July.

Linton's Free Rangers Linda and Jared Hercoe's eggs won Produce from the Paddock and Wilfred Henson, of Henson Gardens, won Dirt of the Roots with his Maori potatoes.

Riverside Orchard's Philip Wycherley's golden queen peaches were highly commended and Brian Fethard's Pacific Beauty apples grown in the Hawkes Bay was a pip fruit winner.

The market was a winner of the NZ Farmers Market of the Year 2012, 2013 and 2014, and has been running for 13 years. It opens every Friday in Manchester Square, rain, hail or shine, 9am-1.30pm.
