X Factor contestant Jazzy Axton has reinvented herself since her time on the show came to an end and is now playing the part of a Disney movie hero at children's birthday parties.
The idea to portray Elsa, the popular character from Frozen, first came about during the filming ofX Factor when contestants started to refer to the 14-year-old as "Frozen girl."
"Everyone who met me as a contestant for X Factor was like, 'Oh my gosh you look so much like Elsa'," Jazzy told the Bay of Plenty Times last night.
"Considering the huge hype of the movie, I thought it would be a good opportunity where I get to do what I love."
Jazzy said her new dress up gig is also an opportunity to "perfect her craft."
Her mother, Emma Axton, said she thought about it at the time but with filming she put it to one side.
"I was also sitting in a meeting one day when people said that she looked like Elsa and said that they'd book her for birthdays and things if she was interested," said Mrs Axton.
The enterprise is now up and running for business with bookings already and a Facebook page set up advertising for children's birthday parties and other functions.
She has a custom-made costume and dances and sings songs from the movie.
Mrs Axton said Jazzy loved children and children loved her "it's the pretty face and kind nature that draws the kids in".
"Our aim is to appear as Elsa and sing and dance for a target age of 3 to 8-year-olds," Mrs Axton said.
"This is something she wants to do and she's doing something she loves. She's 100 per cent focused and I really admire her for that."
The Mount Maunganui College student was now at the stage of wanting to buy nice things for herself like most teenage girls and her new gig gave her "a bit of pocket money", her mother said.
The money would also go towards paying for a couple of talent camps overseas and funding her singing projects, Mrs Axton said.
"She has a three week camp in LA at the end of December beginning of January where she'll be working on developing her singing and meeting with other artists."
Jazzy was dubbed by viewers as "the young girl" during her X Factor experience and her mum said she had become a bit of a celebrity at her school.
Jazzy is still filming appearances for the show and has received positive feedback and "overwhelming" support.
