An Auckland woman who posted photos of her remarkable weight loss on Instagram has hit back at those accusing her of "faking" it.
Stylist Simone Anderson Pretscherer posted a before-and-after comparison on Instagram last week, showing the results of her 86kg weight loss - dropping from 169kg to 83.85kg ina little less than a year, the Huffington Post reports.
"From a BMI of 51.6 to 25.6... This is just the beginning of a brand new and improved me, one who won't let anything or anyone get in the way of achieving whatever I decide to put my mind to," she wrote.
Many found Pretscherer's dramatic weight loss too good to be true. According several sources, it was the result of surgery.
After accusations of "being fake and a liar" she was moved to post another comparison this time showing the loose skin that has resulted from the weight loss.
"Throughout my whole journey I have tried to be so honest about the whole experience and tell people it exactly as it's happened so to be called a fake hurt a lot," she wrote.
Pretscherer told website Bustle that she is looking to have surgery to remove her excess skin when she can afford it, and in the meantime has set up a Givealittle account that people can donate to.
