At the time of writing, Lewis had reached $11,274 of her $US100,000 goal thanks to donations from 744 people made in the eight days that the GoFundMe page has been running.
Currently pursuing a nursing course, 18-year-old Lewis says launching a hair and makeup line is her real dream. So what better way to make it happen than by cashing in on her contribution to the world's vernacular?
Whether it was tweeted by US food franchises Taco Bell or IHOP, captioned by Kim Kardashian or used in B.O.B's song "Fleek", Lewis may have gotten the short end of the stick.

But she doesn't seem to be deterred: "I gave the world a word. I can't explain the feeling," she told The Verge.
"At the moment I haven't gotten any endorsements or received any payment. I feel that I should be compensated. But I also feel that good things happen to those who wait."
And with 1,782,823 on Instagram alone bearing #onfleek, there's certainly plenty to play for.
