A mother was travelling on a Sydney train when a stranger handed her a note.
The woman was with her nine-month-old girl when the "kind stranger in a suit" insisted she take the money to put towards her daughter's education.
"This is not a gift. It is an investment. Pleaselet your baby know that an old Aboriginal man invested $20 in her college fund," the letter read.
Taken aback by the gesture, the mum took to Reddit to post a photo of the note and gift, expressing her gratitude, news.com.au reported.
"Thank you kind stranger on the train! It's people like you making Sydney a better place," she said alongside an image of the $20 note and letter. "We will frame this and make sure she sees it! Many love, kind stranger in a suit, who had a joyful interaction with our 9 months old girl!"
"This is a very good message and an example. This needs more attention," a third person said, while another quipped, "That man invests on the young way better than the governments."
Some questioned why the term "college" was used, saying it was an American term, but others came to the stranger's defence.
"I think you're focusing on the wrong thing here. But I'll bite anyway. Does it really matter? Education is still education," one person said.
The woman and her daughter had been travelling on the south line towards Sutherland.

However some notes people discover can have an unpleasant nature, such as the creepy one found by a mum while browsing through her seven-year-old's homework.
Stephanie Furneaux, 33, discovered her eldest daughter Poppy had creepily penned "In March I found poison to destroy you" in an exercise book after being asked to make a sentence out of a list of words.
