It's a big year for art and wine - the World of Wearable Art (WOW) is celebrating its 25th anniversary, while Brancott Estate Wines celebrates 40 years since its vines were first planted in Marlborough.

The result? A limited edition of WOW wines with labels from award-winning garments from previous shows. The labels are striking and, where possible, reflect the wine varietals pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, pinot gris and chardonnay. The wines, including the trio pictured, are available until mid-October and are all reasonably priced at $27.

No doubt they will be served to those lucky enough to be at the WOW award show in Wellington on October 5.

2012 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc - $27

"Noor Reverie" is the garment featured on this sauvignon blanc, which seems a
perfect match with a big showy wine that holds back on nothing. A huge bouquet of rich, ripe fruit, fresh-cut grass, a swirl of citrus, a burst of melon and a searing acidity that lingers almost forever. Essentially this is a no-holds-barred sauvignon that struts rather than walks, with a rock 'n' roll attitude.

2012 Hawkes Bay Chardonnay - $27

Featuring "Lucid Epiphany" on the label, this is a chardonnay for those who prefer a more restrained, refined and complex style. Sean Purucker's wearable piece salutes the triumph
of creativity with a design full of character, attitude and artistry. The delicate and smooth wine has flavours of grapefruit, oatmeal and butterscotch, matching well with pasta dishes. A pleasure to drink on any occasion.

2011 South Island Pinot Noir - $27

"Tubular Belle", the truly spectacular, intricate and surely difficult-to-wear garment, adorns this pleasurable pinot. A medium-weight wine that feels as if it still has youth on its side, it has the usual South Island ripe red fruit flavours including plum, cherry and a whiff of dried herbs with a pleasant spicy aftertaste.

It is an easy-to-drink wine that slides down smoothly and is perfect with game, especially duck.
