Prince William and Kate have dropped in on expectant parents Meghan and Prince Harry at Windsor before the birth of their first child, according to reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the couple at their new home at Frogmore Cottage for the first time on Easter Sunday, sources said.

Meghan and Harry moved from Kensington Palace to the cottage beside Windsor Castle at the beginning of the month, and the Duchess of Sussex has stopped attending engagements in preparation for the baby's imminent arrival.

Royal-watchers are on tenterhooks waiting for Meghan to go into labour. An ambulance parked near Frogmore Cottage sent fans into a frenzy, before it was confirmed to be a false alarm.

The get-together between the "fab four" lasted just half an hour, according to "Bazaar". Kate and William called in after attending an Easter service with the Queen at Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel — where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex married last year.

The Cambridges reportedly brought house-warming presents and the foursome sat down for tea, defying rumours of a feud.

A source told "Bazaar": "William and Catherine visited because Meghan was unable to attend the service. They wanted to be supportive and see how she is doing. It was a lovely afternoon."

A friend told the publication the Sussexes had "really settled in" to Frogmore Cottage.

"It's truly a lovely home and they have done such a great job with the space," they said. "So much light and positive energy. I couldn't think of a better place to start a family."

Harry saw Kate again at an Anzac Day ceremony in London on Thursday. The prince smiled and laughed with his sister-in-law as they attended the afternoon service at Westminster Abbey along with the Duke of Gloucester.

Prince William attended an Anzac Day service in Auckland with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, before a poignant meeting with a 5-year-old victim of the Christchurch mosque attacks and emergency workers.

That same day, an ambulance parked near Frogmore Cottage and a helicopter flying overhead triggered excitement among royal-watchers, but both proved to be a false alarm.

What's really going on with William and Harry?

A spokesperson for the ambulance service told the "Mirror" the vehicle parked in the farm shop was picking up lunch for students training in the area.

Baby Sussex — who will be seventh in the line of succession to the British throne — is expected to arrive any day. Meghan is due to give birth in late April or early May.

The 37-year-old has not been seen in public since March 11, when she attended a Commonwealth Day service with Prince Harry at Westminster Abbey, but has continued to work with charities behind the scenes.

Details of the birth have been kept private at the request of the couple, but Buckingham Palace is expected to make an announcement when the duchess goes into labour.

Meghan reportedly only wants to take three months' maternity leave after the arrival of her first child with Prince Harry. She told aides she wanted to get back to work quickly, shunning a possible year's leave, the "Sun" reported.

"Meghan has made it very clear she wants to return to work as soon as possible," said a royal source. "She has huge amounts of energy, is extremely determined and wants to be as hands-on as possible with her charities.

"Nothing has been written into her diary just yet, as she wants to wait and see how she feels after having the baby.

"She's pencilled in three months, but she'll most likely return to public life in six weeks — on the Queen's official birthday, Trooping the Colour, in June.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow 🎈 The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk.‬

Harry, 34, is also taking paternity leave, but it is not known how much. Kate, 37, took six months off after Louis' birth last year and five months with Charlotte in 2015. But she took just five weeks off after the birth of her first child George in July 2013 — appearing at an ultra-marathon event in north Wales that August.

Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, is in the UK ahead of the birth of her first grandchild and has been practising yoga with her daughter.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted a message on Instagram on Wednesday to mark Prince Louis turning 1. They wrote on Kensington Palace's royal account: "Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us."
