Discussing the idea together, Mulford says "It was like a light switch flicked in his head. I could tell from his voice that he was curious and excited."
Leeson researched the concept himself and the two quickly became more than friends.
Mulford took Leeson's enthusiasm for ABR as a sign that he will be "a partner for life".
"We both wanted the same thing out of the relationship - a magical bond that only breastfeeding can achieve."
Because Mulford hadn't breastfed for 20 years she induced lactation by dry-feeding and a two-hourly breast pump, for which she has taken time out from her job.
She also drinks Mother's Milk Tea, a herbal drink said to imitate female hormones and increase milk supply.
For Leeson, a self-confessed gym buff, he says he is excited by the health benefits he'll get from his partner's milk.
While the couple say they are proud of their ABR, Mulford is not prepared to feed Leeson in public.
The pair plan to marry and be committed to breastfeeding for as long as they can.
"I can come home from a very stressful day and seconds after Brad latching on I feel a sense of peace and calm. For that time I feel like we become one. I have yet to feel anything more comforting.
"It's a bond that no one can come between."
