Selfies with animals are all the rage these days - even celebrities trying their luck to get the perfect angle with wild animals.

He was forced to abandon his pet when he illegally brought it into Germany in 2013.

He later forked out US$10,700 to cover the monkey's cost of living at the shelter for the past 17 months, as well as his import, Page Six reported.

He said the super friendly "horse in a black-and-white suit trying to say hello", stuck his head in the car because he could smell carrots.

A man posed with a quokka - a furry Australian critter, National Geographic reported.

However, not all selfies with animals go smoothly.

Trying to take a photo of herself with a camel went horribly wrong for a woman when the camel gnawed at her head, Huffington Post reported.
