While some agreed with her friend that the jacket is white and blue, others were certain they could see green and gold, or green and brown.
Tumblr user "dammitmichael" commented: "Nina what did you do."
To which the jacket poster replied: "I don't know. I'm sorry. I'm scared. I'm so scared. I'm crying."
Just like "The Dress", "The Jacket" blew up on Twitter almost immediately with some getting involved in the debate while others swore off social media until the discussion was over.
One user, Andrew Richard, took a considered approach with his response, claiming he used Photoshop to determine the correct colour: "Photoshop says teal and gold. #thejacket," he tweeted.
Fellow Twitter user Grant Arnold agreed, writing: "#TheDress round two has been started. Ppl say blue/white. Please it's green/gold clearly. #TheJacket [sic]."
But another user, known as "Em", disagreed with the green and gold call, saying she was certain the jacket is white and blue.
For Kay Dekker, none of the aforementioned colour options were visible to her: "I literally have no idea which parts are meant to be blue and which are white," she wrote. "I hate this. #TheJacket #TeamBlackandBrown."
