Wellington Folk Festival

Music lovers heading to Wellington should mark a couple of events in their diary. First is the Wellington Folk Festival, at Labour Weekend, October 21-24 which features concerts, workshops, singing sessions, dance classes and a ceilidh. Day or evening passes are available or you can camp the weekend in bush surroundings at Brookfield, Wainuiomata.

From October 26-30, it's the Wellington International Jazz Festival, which takes place at various venues around the city. The diverse performance programme aims to provide something new and vibrant while still providing music that promotes community interaction.
