LONDON - Two plasticine pals stayed top of the box office for the third week running with "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit", Screen International said on Tuesday.
The animated film, which has taken nearly 26 million pounds since its release, charts eccentric inventor Wallace and his faithfulcanine sidekick Gromit as they try to protect vegetables from rabbits in their village.
The popularity of the pair kept "Nanny McPhee", in which Emma Thompson stars as a governess who uses magic to keep charge of the children in her care, in second place.
At number three was new entry "Saw II". The horror film took a little over 2 million pounds in the weekend before Halloween as movie-goers scared themselves watching a sadistic serial killer called Jigsaw go about his business.
In fourth place was another new entry "The Legend of Zorro", reuniting Antonio Banderas as the swashbuckling hero and Catherine Zeta-Jones as his wife Elena.
Director Tim Burton's animation comedy "Corpse Bride", which features the voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, fell two places to fifth, one ahead of the comedy "Sky High".
At number seven was Bill Murray's comedy drama "Broken Flowers", one place higher than action thriller "Into The Blue".
"Lord of War" fell three places to number nine and the top ten was rounded off by Keira Knightley's "Pride & Prejudice".
