Paul Brenner (John Travolta) of the American Army is assigned to look into the murder of Captain Elisabeth Campbell - a smart and beautiful officer found bound and dead on a military training field.
Brenner, who has the power to
arrest any military person, whatever their rank, anywhere in the world, is determined to solve the crime with fellow investigator and former girlfriend Sarah Sunhill (Madeleine Stowe).
Unfortunately the clues point to his hero and the victim's dad, General Campbell (James Cromwell). Who is not only a war hero, he's a peacetime man of honour and the main contender for Vice-President in the coming election.
Sadly, by this stage you may have lost interest in a story that doesn't, as they say these days, engage.
