A pump that's self-contained, rechargeable and battery-powered seems tailor made for boat owners.
Developed in ITT's Innovation Lab, the AquaCharge can be used anywhere on board.
The pump is also fully submersible and can also be used with its own bilge-pump-type base or without it. Grant Matthew, senior product managerat ITT's New Zealand distributor, Lusty and Blundell, says the pump is extraordinarily versatile.
"The Aquacharge can be used as a roving bilge pump or to scavenge that last puddle of water from a live-bait tank, a hard to get at corner, or anywhere unwanted fluid settles.
"It can be used anywhere on board or around the home."
Matthew says common ways in which the pump can be used include emptying the tender after rain; as a self-contained bilge pump for a kayak; removing puddles from boat covers; emptying a fish tank; cleaning up a flood in a laundry, and emptying spa pools, ornamental water features or fish ponds.
"Although it weighs just 1.6kg, the portable AquaCharge's integral battery pack is very powerful," Matthew says.
"It can remove an incredible 756 litres of water before needing to be recharged. This means Aquacharge is not only great for keeping the boat clean, it is also a valuable safety tool, providing a powerful back-up to other onboard pumping systems."
The AquaCharge pump comes complete with both a 230v AC and a 12v DC charger and a 2.5m hose. It costs $159.
