Roommates can lead to pesky business when it comes to creating boundaries, settling scuttles, and adjusting to lifestyle differences.

But there are some moments that are inexplicable, and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon knows the cringing roommate experience first hand, revealing his awkward situations via Twitter and starting a roommate confession thread, reported the Daily Mail.

The comedian, 42, revealed in a tweet that he once had a strange roommate who refused to share toilet paper and brought his own wherever he went, launching a hashtag thread entitled "My Weird Roommate."

"I had a roommate who would bring his own toilet paper whenever he'd go to the bathroom. He thought his was less "germy." #MyWeirdRoommate," he shared to his 49 million Twitter followers.

He sparked a wave of candid responses where Twitter users confessed their roommate's odd quirks and horror stories. And it turns out strange bathroom patterns is an unfortunately common tale.

"I had a college roomie who didn't bring any toilet paper. He'd hop in the shower after a good poop," Twitter user Jay Richardson revealed.

Another woman revealed her roommate would bring pantry items into the bathroom to shave her legs.

"Walked in to see my roommate using MY peanut butter to as shaving cream," she exclaimed.

Had a roommate that would mash all the food on his plate together and would use a kit-kat instead of a fork to eat it #MyWeirdRoommate

Food rarities seemed to be a common characteristic of odd roommates on Twitter, with users revealing stories of condiment obsessions and strange eating habits.

"Had a roommate that would mash all the food on his plate together and would use a kit-kat instead of a fork to eat it," one man wrote.

"#MyWeirdRoommate once ate a 20 McNuggets in the restroom. I found the trash hidden & when I confronted him, his response was, 'I was hungry,'" user Travis Bryant wrote.

"#MyWeirdRoommate left behind 8 bottles of mustard of different varieties when he moved out. Never once saw him eat mustard," another user shared.

Some roommate squabbles arose from simple idiocy.

"I had a roommate that ate petroleum jelly on her toast once because it had the word 'jelly' on it...."user Nicole Peelman revealed.

Aside from food, some money-savvy flatmates shocked their roommates with their dime-saving tactics.

"I had a roommate that showered with his clothes on, because apparently using the washing machine was too expensive," one Twitter user shared.

"I had a roommate who asked me if I wanted to go halfsies on a soap dish. From the dollar store," user Melissa confessed.

And then there are just some lifestyle differences that are simply inexplicable.

"Upon meeting 1st day of college, she told my folks 'I don't do drugs, but I plan on trying as many as I can while here,'" another confessed.

"I had a roommate that would sleep walk in the middle of the night speaking German... He was Chinese," another user named Jay confessed.

"#MyWeirdRoommate Waters her car. No. Not wash it. Gets the water hose...and just waters it for a few minutes. Like a plant," another user wrote.

Twitter users then turn dark and reveal the horror story interactions they've had with roommates that they still seem perplexed by.

I woke up & my roommate was in my room watching me sleep. I asked what she was doing. She said "oh, you're awake" & left. #MyWeirdRoommate

#MyWeirdRoommate I once found a note on the fridge reading: "the rat is dead he is under the table. Have a nice day :)" sure enough he was

— Cari Jenkins (@carijenkins) September 6, 2017

"I woke up & my roommate was in my room watching me sleep. I asked what she was doing. She said 'oh, you're awake' & left," Stacy B wrote on Twitter.

"Old roommate used to wear her wisdom tooth on a necklace," another Twitter user named Kayla wrote.

And some roommates are simply better left alone.

"Lived with my roommate for over a year.. still don't know his name," one man confessed.

Our toilet wasn't flushing, so my roommate pooped in a bag and left it under the sink in the bathroom we share. For days. #myweirdroommate

Another woman couldn't understand why her roommate preferred to sleep in the outdoor balcony.

"He slept on the balcony in his sleeping bag to 'test his camping gear,'" a confused Wendy shared.

Despite the overwhelming number of scarring and horrifying stories of mismatched roommates, sometimes pals get lucky and share their unique passions together.

"My roommates and I tied a stuffed hedgehog to our ceiling fan and tried to dodge it blindfolded #MyWeirdRoommate #Dodgehog," Jacob Woodworth replied to the late night show host's tweet.
