It's hard to believe she has a nasty streak, but as special guest on Criminal Intent, she plays an evil foster mum who has seemingly turned her boys into murderers. It's up to Logan and Barek to find out.

Tonight, the show for insomniac art lovers profiles Grahame Sydney, the man whose Central Otago landscapes have made him one of our most recognisable painters. And the show's cameras follow jazz musician Nathan Haines as he returns from London to perform with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Sandra Bullock reprises her role as a tomboy-ish FBI agent, whose undercover antics at a beauty pageant in the first film have gained her celebrity status. Funny, but sadly lacking in the plot department. (2005)

THE BIG BOUNCE

Another flick from the pages of crime novelist Elmore Leonard, this has Owen Wilson as a drifter-conman in Hawaii who gets a job looking after a judge (Morgan Freeman). First filmed in 1969 with Ryan O'Neal in the lead, this version is an amusing crime caper, but don't expect an out-and-out comedy.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

After seeing the follow-up Hannibal and the prequel Red Dragon (see Monday, TV3), this classic thriller looks relatively low-budget. But the gripping performances from Jodie Foster as FBI agent Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins keep it standing tall 15 years on. (1991)

KUNG POW: ENTER THE FIST

Kung fu comedy which edits new footage and characters into old 1970s kung fu cheapies. Plain irritating for some viewers, while others call it a masterpiece of comic re-dubbing. (2002)
