Auckland theatre audiences' hunger for "excavated classics" is sated by the Silo's canny 30th anniversary staging of Roger Hall's classic Glide Time, freshened up by director Oliver Driver and a superb cast in cringe costumes. Yes, the public service past is a foreign country, but this is one we still love. Cast includes Simon Prast, Theresa Healey, Stuart Devenie and Craig Parker. Beige socks and sandals, anyone?

The O'Reilly family gathering to bury their mother is peppered with bursts of song, the repertoire similar to the playlist from Radio New Zealand's Saturday night request session. The cast of seven seasoned professionals displays impressive vocal talent and the ability to inhabit a menagerie of instantly recognisable Kiwi characters.

This play about the Bad Boys of British comedy Peter Cook and Dudley Moore focuses on Moore's side of their rocky relationship. The story is portrayed through a combination of flashbacks and sketches, and illustrates why the duo's humour endured when their relationship could not.
