Our reviewer enjoyed Kerry Fox's solo, seven-role performance in The Blonde ... but thought the material, by Aussie playwright Robert Hewett, mundane, with the expat actor playing "a series of ordinary people in what is essentially
a suburban soap opera".

Meanwhile, at the more intimate Herald Theatre, Danielle Cormack is acting up a solo storm in Cathy Downes' impressionistic study of Mansfield's life drawn directly from her journals, letters and stories. I'm sure both actors would find comparison odious but it is a highly unusual situation.
