While New Zealand may seen like a country that loves our booze, research shows that we're actually not too bad in comparison to the rest of the world.
Vouchercloud.com has mapped the world's booziest countries based on how much alcohol each person consumes in litres per year and the results for New Zealand aren't what we'd expect!
The top countries are as follows:
1. Lithuania - 18.2 litres pp
2. Belarus - 16.4
3. Moldova - 15.9
4. Russia - 13.9
5. Czech Republic - 13.7
5. Romania - 13.7
6. Croatia - 13.6
6. Bulgaria - 13.6
7. Belgium - 13.2
8. Ukraine - 12.8
8. Estonia - 12.8
9. Slovakia - 12.3
9. Hungary - 12.3
9. Latvia - 12.3
9. United Kingdom - 12.3
9. Poland - 12.3
10. South Korea - 11.9
But where did New Zealand place?
Little old Aotearoa placed 37th with 10.1 litres consumed per person, per year - and our rival across the ditch beat us, with Australia placing 26th with 11.2 litres pp.
