The Smiths resurface for concert

Johnny Marr and Andy Rourke from guitar group The Smiths, which split in 1987, will lead a host of Manchester-based artists in a charity concert to raise money for a city hospital.

Websites dedicated to the band - which had a big influence on British rock - have been buzzing with speculation that sardonic frontman and lyricist Morrissey may also appear.
