Lee Tamahori got the job at the 007 factory. Fellow Kiwi director Roger Donaldson sets out to show that anything Lee can do ...
Colin Farrell plays James Clayton, computer whiz, approached by shadowy CIA recruiter Walter Burke (Al Pacino). When Burke mentions his father, who died
mysteriously, Clayton signs up and is sent to the Farm, the CIA boot camp, where he meets Layla (Bridget Moynahan). The plot twists so much and so often that you'll give up trying to figure things out.
Tamahori's flick knew when to laugh at itself. Pacino, Farrell and Donaldson want us to take theirs seriously.
DVD features: movie (105min); commentary by Donaldson and Farrell; deleted scenes with optional commentary; Spy School: Inside the CIA Training Program documentary.
