The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh won't attend Prince Louis's christening, Buckingham Palace reveals

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will not attend Prince Louis's christening today, Buckingham Palace has revealed.

The royal couple, the great-grandparents of the 11-week-old prince will miss the service at Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, London, the Daily Mail reports.

The Queen will be travelling back from Norfolk on Monday at the start of a busy week.

She will attend high profile celebrations in central London marking the centenary of the RAF on Tuesday, and a visit by US President Donald Trump in Windsor on Friday.

Prince Louis has six godparents including William's longtime friend Guy Pelly, Kensington Palace announced.

Prince George, four, and three-year-old Princess Charlotte will also be on hand for their younger brother's big day.

It will be the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children have been seen together as a family of five.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked Matt Holyoak to be the official photographer at the christening of Prince Louis, Kensington Palace has said.

Holyoak will take the official photographs at Clarence House following the service in The Chapel Royal.

Prince Louis will be baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

In a tweet today, he wrote: 'I'm delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today – a precious child made in God's image, just as we all are. Please join me in praying for him and his family on this special day.'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also expected to make an appearance, as is Kate's brother James Middleton and her pregnant sister Pippa Matthews.

Meghan was christened and confirmed in the Chapel Royal by the Archbishop, who also married the Suits star and Harry at Windsor in May.
