Russell
Russell the ginger cat was found badly burned three days after a fire destroyed his family home. Since then, he's been recovering at the Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care clinic in Raleigh, North Carolina, while his owners find a new home. Staff at the clinic post heart-warming updates on Russell regularly and he's been known to comfort new patients as they arrive.
Yohkan-san
Judging by his Instagram Kachimo Yoshimatsu lives with at least three cats, but solemn-faced Yohkan-san is the most famous. Kachimo checks in most days with the same cheerful caption - "Good morning Yohkan-san!" - but Yohkan-san is usually too busy contemplating the meaning of life to pose for a photo.

The internet's most adorable raccoon Pumpkin lives a life of luxury in the Bahamas after being rescued by her owner. Pumpkin enjoys hanging out with her best friends - a couple of dogs called Toffee and Oreo.

This adorable African pygmy hedgehog lives in Japan and posts a handy picture featuring today's date each day on Twitter. The prickly critter's owner stays anon, but keeps keeps Marutaro's 94,000 followers up to date with plenty of cute pictures and vines.
Garfi
Move over Grumpy Cat there's an even grumpier feline blowing up the internet these days. Garfi, who lives in Turkey with his owner, is becoming known as 'the angriest cat in the world' and many people are relishing in using his face on memes, probably with little delight to Garfi.
