A six-month-old baby is already proving a hit on social media, boasting over 50,000 followers on Instagram.
Baby Chanco, who lives in Japan, was born with a full head of hair in December 2017 and it has continued to sprout as she has grown.
Chanco now has a miraculous bouffant which her mother shares pictures of on her Instagram account.
Thanks to her luscious locks Chanco's mother is able to adorn her daughter's hair with an array of hair accessories including bobbles, clips and ribbons.
Whether a baby will be born with hair is influenced by genetics and ethnicity, according to Dr Bud Zukow, a paediatrician speaking to Hairfinder.com.
However, a baby's hair as an infant bears little resemblance of what he or she will look like as they grow older.
Some babies emerge from the womb with a thick head of hair, but they also might lose it in a matter of weeks.
This is completely normal and due to hormonal fluctuations. An old wives' tale states that pregnant women will experience heartburn if their baby has hair.
Inside the womb, the infant is exposed to high levels of hormones from their mother.
When the baby is born these hormone levels drop. As the baby's hair begins a new growth cycle, the old hair may fall out, which could lead to bald patches, or even a completely bald head.
Usually, the second growth of hair is stronger, less downy, and may even be a different colour to their original locks.
