This year, the wine connoisseur says the best white wine buy is Main Divide Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2012, from Pegasus Bay. It sells for about $19.95, and Cooper describes this vintage as the best yet.
"A delicious mouthful, it offers wonderful value," he says.
Or, if you'd prefer a good red, Petit Clos by Clos Henri Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012 is Cooper's pick.
"Most four-star pinot noirs sell in the $30 to $40 range. Petit Clos by Clos Henri Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012, by contrast, is an excellent, highly satisfying red, full of personality, which sells for under $25."
This competition is now closed. Thanks for entering.
