While it might not feel like it at the moment, this Sunday (December 21) is the longest day of summer. To celebrate the delicious 14 hours of daylight, Parnell bistro, 46 & York, is putting on a spread, hosting the Longest Sunday Session. Guests can settle in with freshly shucked oysters and a bottle of Moet Ice Imperial champagne for $100. DJ Zeisha Fremaux will be on the decks from 2.30pm.

Cable Bay for New Year's Eve
For the first time ever this popular Waiheke Island winery will be toasting the new year from their spacious verandah, soaking up one of Auckland's best vistas. Britomart NYE Beach Party
The hip inner-city precinct will be dumped with 4 tonnes of sand and produce a massive 14-hour beach party to see in the new year. There will be seven of the coolest venues in the area getting involved - the list includes BCC, 1885, Orleans, Racket, Nathan Club and Basement. Grab a standard third release ticket for $69 or treat yourself to a VIP $150 offering which gives you queue jumping rights, restricted area access, canapes and the best service in town.
