Hollywood veteran Susan Sarandon has hit back at "cleavage shaming" comments on Twitter.
She came under fire over her outfit choice for this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards, where the 69-year-old was nominated for her role in The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.
Key question: would @SusanSarandon have worn that outfit to a funeral or memorial service? Answer: no. End of debate. #cleavagegate
The pants suit combo with the plungingneckline sent Twitter into a frenzy and now Sarandon has used the same social media platform to defend her decision.
She posted a throwback picture of her in a bra and said the tweet was dedicated to British columnist Piers Morgan, who dubbed the outfit as "inappropriate".
She wore it while presenting the In Memoriam segment, which honours people in the industry who have died.
Morgan tweeted a picture of the outfit with the comment "Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute".
Many women have now jumped on Sarandon's bandwagon and Morgan's Twitter is being flooded with pictures of women's cleavage.
He has tweeted in response "I must be punished. Please don't stop them." and noted that he wasn't complaining about model Nikki Leigh tweeting her cleavage to him.
