Style Pasifika: Stitching up an extravaganza

Pacific fashion and Island trends will be on show tonight at the annual Style Pasifika fashion awards.

Katie McGettigan was among those at yesterday's rehearsal helping to make final adjustments in time for tonight's big show, where hundreds of Pacific-inspired clothing pieces - many made out of materials such as coconut husks and traditional tapa cloth - will flow down the catwalk.

Ten categories including urban Pasifika streetwear, traditionally inspired wear and painted body art will showcase the creations.

Westfield Style Pasifika will start in the Vector Arena in Auckland City at 7.30pm.
