Swathes of paint and colour have helped to get a group of young designers' works onto the runway.
Sixteen diploma students from the NZ Institute of Fashion Technology will have their designs included in this year's NZ Fashion Week in late August.
The announcement comes as part of the annual
Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion project - a collaboration between Resene and the school that promotes the company's new paint colours, but also encourages students to come up with bold designs to reflect those colours.
Among the students who will get to show their work is 40-year-old Roi Nu, whose aqua-like pleated dress was inspired by the geometric shapes of the Egyptian pyramids.
Other successful designers include Jennifer Samsudin, 20, for her deep purple creation inspired by the neon light of Tokyo and 20-year-old Brooke Neary's bright red hooded cape creation.
