1. Aotearoa Stan Walker ft. Troy Kingi, Maisey Rika & Ria Hall Aotearoa is my boys. In the mornings before school, they sing it in Māori and do the dance to it around the house. They are so proud that they know the lyrics inMāori and it's encouraging them to want to learn more.
2. I Want Your Love Lady Gaga/Nick Knight This reminds me of the time I made out with Tom Ford. Greatest career experience of my entire life.
3. (Baby I've Got You) On My Mind Powderfinger When that album came out, Api, my husband, and I were living in Scotts Head and he would play it over and over and drum to it while he cooked a barbecue out the back.
4. Never Too Much Luther Vandross Glass of red wine. Making spaghetti bolognaise while the kids sit on the couch watching Friends. I'm not a fabulous cook, mainly because I don't enjoy it. I've never been good at it and it stresses me out. But the one dish I can make that the boys love is basic spaghetti bolognaise. So, at least once a week, I'll have a glass of red wine, put Never Too Much on and make spag bol. The connection is so strong that I feel like now I can't have one without the other. There's no spaghetti without Luther, there's no Luther without spaghetti.
5. Changes 2Pac JK-47 cover I'm not great in the morning. My husband turns the coffee machine on and that's our alarm to get up. We all slowly come out of hibernation, smelling the coffee, with JK-47's excellent cover of Changes. I played 2Pac's original to my boys and they say now that they prefer the cover. Cute.
