Princess Beatrice seemed to be very lackadaisical as her sister's maid of honour but there is speculation that she was given another task on the big day.
The maid of honour is usually the one fixing the bride's dress but that job was left to Princess Eugenie's father, Prince Andrew, and Jack Brooksbank's best man.
The head bridesmaid is also usually in charge of corralling the flower girls and page boys, but Lady Louise Windsor was given that task.
Even when Eugenie hopped out of the carriage it was Prince Andrew who helped her out and fixed her train.

However, it has been suggested that Princess Eugenie wanted her sister to take care of their mother, the Duchess of York.
Sarah Ferguson has had a rocky relationship with the royals since she and Prince Andrew divorced. She was caught getting her toes sucked by her financial adviser and was also outed for accepting money to provide access to her former husband.
It would make sense that her daughters would feel protective of her walking into the church alone.
Beatrice also delivered a beautiful reading, a passage from The Great Gatsby.
