It was the British society party of the year. And royal bride Meghan Markle — the new Duchess of Sussex — had an unlikely gift for guests at the post-wedding bash.

A pair of slippers.

The former Suits star, 36, arranged for terry-towelling, royal-branded slide-on slippers for guests to change into, giving their feet a rest from sky-high heels.

Pretty Little Liars actor Troian Bellisario — the wife of the Duchess's Suits co-star Patrick J Adams — was a clear fan.

"How amazing is this? Because these shoes have come off, they have slippers for us. Slippers," Bellisario wrote on Instagram. "I'm so ready. No no grab those, I am grabbing these. Do you want a pair madam? Yes, please. I hope you've had a wonderful day."

AFTER AFTER PARTY

After the formalities finished, there was an after after-party, with the Daily Mirror reporting that some guests who had attended the 200-seat reception at Frogmore House then kicked on at the exclusive celebrity haunt, Chiltern Firehouse, past 1am.

And new details have been revealed about the exclusive formal dinner reception, which reportedly included a menu of "dirty burgers" served around midnight.

Prince William and talk show host James Corden served as MCs. British actor Idris Elba was the DJ.

The Sun newspaper reported that the wedding reception turned into a party atmosphere, with a royal dance-off and "beer pong".

Corden instigated an extraordinary dance routine which featured Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.

The newlyweds hit the dance floor to I Wanna Dance With Somebody and the night ended with a fireworks display, the Sun reported.

"James Corden did his best to entertain and it went down an absolute treat," a source told the British newspaper.

AT THE RECEPTION

When George Clooney gets stopped at the door by security, you know this was some party with serious star power.

The Hollywood celebrity and his lawyer wife Amal were forced to prove themselves to Windsor Estate guards, as the couple arrived in their silver Audi S5 ahead of the Frogmore House reception for the newlywed Prince Harry and his bride Meghan.

While 200 guests were welcomed back to the evening reception, after a 600-strong congregation attended St George's Chapel for the ceremony itself. Then there was an after-party at Chiltern Firehouse, a late-night hot spot in Marlyebone, owned by the groom's pal, Andre Balazs (Katherine Keating's ex).

Dancing the night away in a $600,000 glass marquee, purpose-built for the evening gala (hosted by Prince Charles) and a DJ who played the reception of Pippa Middleton's wedding last year had the celebrity guests fired up.

Sir Elton John got guests in the party spirit at the earlier luncheon, when Prince Harry ended his touching tribute to "wife" Meghan by pointing at a piano and asking the A-list crowd "does anybody know how to play?"

Stepping up, as he did on the sad occasion of Diana's funeral, the pop icon then played a mini-concert set including Tiny Dancer, Circle Of Life, I'm Still Standing and Your Song.

Sipping Pol Roger vintage champagne, guests were served canapes and food bowls, as opposed to a sit-down luncheon, using local and organic sourced ingredients, including 10-hour roasted pork belly and Scottish langoustines.

Many guests, including Meghan's power posse of fashionable friends, paraded into the post- wedding event in gowns worthy of the Oscars red carpet.

Priyanka Chopra, a former star on Quantico and Baywatch, sparkled in a sequined pewter-coloured gown by Dior; while her Canadian bestie Jessica Mulroney went for gold in a body-hugging dress, with plunging neckline and sexy cowl back.

Congratulations Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. What a beautiful and joyous day today was with your lovely family and friends. I danced when @eltonjohn sang, laughed at Prince Charles fantastic speech and am honoured to witness your commitment and love for each other. Wishing you a long and happy life together #royalwedding #princeharry #meghanmarkle #windsor

A post shared by Jacinda Barrett (@jacindabarrett) on May 19, 2018 at 11:29am PDT

Mulroney drew some criticism for "showing off" by having her stylist Rachel Renna post video and photos of her parading around in the gown.

Meanwhile, Chopra posted a touching tribute to Meghan on her Instagram, celebrating the occasion.

"Every once in a while there is a moment when time stands still … that happened today. You, my friend," she wrote to the bride, "were the epitome of grace, love and beauty. Every choice made at this wedding by you both will go down in history, not just because it was your wedding but because this incredible wedding stood for change and hope. Both things that the world needs desperately.
