A new website is set to launch today, aiming to be a one-stop shop for what's new online. Shop What's New will feature updates from online stores including Ruby, Overland, Storm, Barkers and more, as well as fashion news and features.
Phoenix rises
Local beauty brand Phoenix Cosmetics is expanding, opening four new stores around New Zealand - within Annah Stretton stores in Hamilton, Palmerston North and Christchurch, and a stand-alone store in Wellington in October.
Flag bearer
Auckland's waterfront is looking fantastic, with the opening of the new Wynyard development - and the Viaduct has had an artistic makeover care of fashion designer Miranda Brown. The Auckland City Council asked Brown to design a colourful, 50-piece flag installation, which will be displayed along the CBD waterfront. Called Ecology to Cosmology, the installation features three metre-tall flags embossed with circular motifs that represent navigation to and from New Zealand. Brown explains that it is a "vibrant expression of the navigation cycle".
Welcome to the neighbourhood
The Viva team loves the Britomart precinct, with its offering of cafes, restaurants and bars; and the arrival of various retail stores into the area. Several boutiques have opened recently, from M.A.C.'s new store to Ted Baker's boutique - and stationery store Kikki.K is set to open on Saturday, at shop 8A, East Building, Galway St, Takutai Square, Britomart.
World does shoes
World is set to collaborate with Number One Shoes for summer 2011, with the capsule collection debuting on the runway early next month and arriving in store in limited numbers the next day, on September 3. The womens footwear range is called World Made Me Do It.
Show with a cause
The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation will hold its annual In The Pink "Re-Dressed" event tomorrow night, with a runway show featuring designs from Adrienne Winklemann, Liz Mitchell, Yvonne Bennetti, Carlson, Cybele, Huffer, Muse, Zambesi and Zambesi Man. A charity auction will also be held, with bubbles and canapes served from 6.30pm-8.30pm. The event will raise money to support the funding of breast cancer patient registers around the country, which provide vital information to improve survival from breast cancer and service delivery for women with breast cancer.
