Ramsay best chef again

Gordon Ramsay has been named the best chef in London for the 11th year running.

But authors of a new restaurant guide say his dominance may be because of his celebrity status.

Ramsay's self-named restaurant was voted the "top gastronomic experience" by 8000 diners for the Harden's London Restaurants 2007 guide. Five of his restaurants pepper the top 10.

"In some cases this reflects the intrinsic merits of the restaurants, but in others it is just a function of the power of the Ramsay PR machine to generate footfall," the guide said.
