Yes, the one where our very own Hollywood superstar and America's sweetheart ... well, you've read the rest. Russell Crowe plays Terry Thorne, whose business is K&R: searching and rescuing businessmen who have been kidnapped for ransom.
Peter and Alice Bowman (David Morse, Meg
Ryan) are an American couple living in the fictional Latin American country of Tecala while Peter builds a dam. He thinks it will help locals grow crops. She thinks it's a greenie front by the oil company he works for. He's kidnapped by the local revolutionary movement that is now more interested in drugs than politics.
Thorne is called in, called out when he finds that Bowman's firm didn't pay his K&R policy, and comes back in for Alice Bowman's sake. He will risk his life for free to save the husband of the woman he thinks he might love.
Interesting but not rivetting: the cast must have used up all their energy in the off-screen drama.
